The truth is sex is good for your health and improves your mood. There is nothing unspiritual about pleasure. There is no other human activity where we can as effectively lose the ego, unite body and soul, escape duality and time, and experience transcendental union with both another and God.
Most of us do not experience the transcendental possibility of sex. Why? Because we have inherited a great deal of junk about sex. Our bodies are not beautiful enough, our smells are bad, orgasms are the end goal, our penis is too small or too big, we must perform, stopping after you start is not okay, you should just "know" how to pleasure your partner, sex should be perfect every time, foreplay is not the "real" thing - intercourse is, you have to have sex in a certain order... On and on and on it goes.
It is no wonder when we get in bed that disaster strikes. We are so busy controlling the scene in silence, that we are not free to be ourselves, to allow the sacred fire of sexual energy to move through us.
We all have a secret longing for an experience of losing ourselves in sex to love and God. But so many of us carry guilt-ridden negative messages about sex that we either give up sex altogether, or inadvertently turn lovemaking into an ordinary, hurried, mechanical act of self-focused genital pleasure. We miss out on the opportunity to experience the thrill that comes from slowing down, being present, looking into each other’s eyes, giving ourselves fully to our beloved, surrendering to our partner’s fulfillment and allowing ourselves to be consumed by transcendent love.
Divine sex is mystical and miraculous, a profoundly deep spiritual
experience. To surrender to the high art of lovemaking is to allow yourself to
be consumed by pleasure, to allow the sexual energy moving through you and your
partner to take on a life of its own. Personalities die as the passionate pulse
of sexual fire spontaneously expresses itself. Time disappears. You experience
the Infinite through total presence. The senses
are magnified a thousand times. Each touch seems
like the first. Giving and taking are the same. Boundaries between bodies blur. Heaven and earth merge as
body and soul are delivered to unimagined heights of ecstasy.
In this workshop, we will begin to unravel the crazy sex messages that prevent us from being our Full Potential Selves in sex, and discover a fun, new way to express ourselves uncensored in lovemaking - either alone or with a partner. We will learn what it means to take full responsibility for our sexual pleasure and release ourselves from the burden of reading minds. We will shift from "getting" or "performing" and "achieving a goal" to being present to pleasure and energy flow in the moment. We will re-claim our bodies, our right to sexual pleasure and full self- expression.
There will be no nudity or sex in this course. We may watch sexually explicit videos for educational purposes.
